Louvre Hopper
Water Diverting Hoppers

In extreme weather conditions and high winds leading to free area velocities in excess of 4.5m/sec consideration should be given to the attachment of a hopper to the rear of the louvre.

Any water that does penetrate the louvre is collected by the hopper and diverted back to the louvre drainage channel then out through drainage holes in the louvre face.

Ventilation spaces that are specifically waterproofed or tanked and louvres that have outward sloping ducts are not as prone to water damage.

However, when fitting louvres in exposed positions such as gable ends, multi-storeyed walls or buildings in exposed areas, the effects of wind velocity and therefore water penetration should be evaluated when choosing type and size of louvre and the possible requirement of a hopper.

Material: 1.2 - 2mm Aluminium sheet, mill finish or powder coated, sealed to rear of louvre.
